At the invitation of Timm Karlas, the subject officer for Ethics at the Ministry of Education for Gymnasiums in Middle Franconia, Prof. Dr. Mathias Rohe and Dr. Katja Thörner represented the Research Center for Religious Diversity at the Ethics Subject Teachers Conference held on October 20, 2025, in Nuremberg.

For the teachers of the Ethics subject at the gymnasiums in Middle Franconia, our director, Dr. Thörner, initially presented the work of the Research Center for Religious Diversity. Subsequently, our director, Prof. Rohe, delivered a 30-minute lecture on dealing with antisemitic and anti-Muslim stereotypes in the context of the Israel-Palestine conflict.

During the subsequent discussion round, the teachers had the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Together with Mr. Karlas, we are working on a concept for teacher training that is planned to be implemented towards the end of the 2025/26 school year.
