Initiated by our director Prof. Dr. Mathias Rohe, a panel discussion was organized at FAU on May 27, 2025, featuring the Muslim-Jewish couple Saba-Nur Cheema and Prof. Dr. Meron Mendel (Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences).
The event opened with a greeting from our Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger, and was moderated by Prof. Dr. Kay Kirchmann, the dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Department of Theology.
The conversation was centered around the question of how to avoid break-down or polarization and on how the conflict between Israel and Palestine is dealt with in German society. Following the panel-discussion, the two guests gave ample time for questions from the audience.
