The Research Center for Religious Diversity participated in a panel discussion, on 13 February 2026 at the Munich Security Conference, hosted by the Bavarian State Minister of the Interior, for Sport and Integration, Joachim Herrmann, Member of the Bavarian State Parliament.

Together with HE Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi and Ms. Bakhita Alremeithi of the Manara Center for Coexistence and Dialogue, Prof. Dr. Mathias Rohe and Dr. Ghassan El Masri, representing the Research Center, discussed the significance of religion in national and international security policy. Both sides emphasized that political decision-makers must be aware of the power of religious ideologies and leaders. In particular with regard to young people, strategies must be developed to counter the misuse of religious narratives.

Given the global threat that trans-national actors represent, international cooperation—such as that between the Research Center for Religious Diversity and the Manara Center for Coexistence and Dialogue—become essential. Following the discussion, a plan for collaboration will be developed.
