“Keep the Dialogue, Despite the Conflict“
With the project Keep the Dialogue, Despite the Conflict (“Im Dialog bleiben, trotz Konflikt“) we analyze the consequences of the events of October 7, 2023 -and what followed from it- for German society. We focus on its effects on interreligious dialogue, while seeking ways to overcome the resulting polarizations.
Through series of workshops with representatives from churches, religious communities as well as the education, social and political sectors, we seek to identify disruptions and breakdowns in communication, analyze their complex causes, and develop approaches to keep the dialogue going between the different sectors of Germany society.
The workshops and related materials are documented on our website. The research team also prepares resources and scholarly writings on the subject.
The research center collaborates in the project with partners at both the municipal and state levels, conducting knowledge-transfer projects with organizations such as the Volkshochschule Erlangen, the Protestant-Lutheran Church in Bavaria, and with professional migrant-integration coaches.
The project is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, Sports, and Integration.
